About Us
Matt and Jason first met in the fall of 2010 when they had both been hired as guitarists and singers for the same gig. Matt had just moved to Nashville to take the next step in his music career, and Jason had also recently arrived in Nashville to pursue a graduate degree at Vanderbilt University. The two became fast friends and continued to stay in touch as Matt would continue on to be the band leader for one of the top bands playing at the most iconic honky tonks of Nashville’s Broadway scene. Whereas, Jason would grow his career and become a product manager for the number one wealth manager in the world. Although the two would take very different paths, they would realign down the road with their shared passion.
Several years later, Matt and Jason would begin to collaborate on multiple projects, beginning with Jason’s first solo album in 2019, which Matt produced. Most recently, Matt and Jason are releasing a modern bluegrass or “new-grass” album in the Fall of 2024, which they co-wrote and once again, Matt produced.
The two would go on to discover they shared other experiences despite their different paths. One of note is that each of them had been inspired by their brides to write, record and perform a personal love song at their weddings. Compounding on this personal, custom song theme, both Matt and Jason had several different people commission them to write songs for them over the years. The two got to talking, and the rest was history. Sharing a love for writing and recording music, Matt and Jason decided to join forces and start Heirloom Music Group, where they work with others to tell their personal stories through song and create timeless musical art to share with family and friends.
